The first, real, vacation of the year… is for Easter! The right occasion to get away from your daily routine and spend some time with your friends and family.
Like every holiday, Easter has its traditions, but they may vary from country to country
In Switzerland and Austria, Easter Sunday is a joyful day for young and for old. In the morning, parents, grandparents, uncles and aunts, take on the role of the Easter bunny; hiding colorful chocolate eggs or a fun Easter egg, that all the children will go hunt for.
In France, the night before Easter, children prepare a nest made of moss, and then they wait until morning to find out what the Easter Bunny has brought them. With great joy they’ll find their nests full of colorful chocolate eggs, and bunny shaped chocolates.
In Hungary, young boys visit young girls on Easter Monday, they serenade them and ask permission to spray a few drops of perfume on their heads. This is to prevent that the flower of the household (the girl) does not wither. In exchange the boys receives a painted egg, even though in modern times the egg has been switched out for a chocolate one.
