Heading out in bicycle from Rimini, riding along the river Marecchia, you\u2019ll arrive without difficulty at the so called \u201cGem of Romagna\u201d, Santarcangelo<\/strong>. A city largely dominated by a fortress from the XIV century, but that also offers a number of attractions less known but none the less. The old printshop Marchi<\/strong> is a shop from the 1600\u2019s where the original wood and stone mangle is still in use to flatten the traditional Romagnolic canvases. These canvases are made of cotton and hemp and the characteristic print is of a brownish color. It\u2019s such an interesting place, and in such a pretty place, it is a must see for visitors who loves cycling, but who also enjoys the cultural influences along his path.<\/p>\n

Another interesting place, especially if you\u2019re passionate about what the Romagna region has to offer as for food and wine, is the itinerary from Cesenatico to Sogliano<\/strong>. Famous for its harbour boardwalk designed by the great Leonardo Da Vinci, Cesenatico holds a great number of spectacular fish restaurants. Crossing the Rubicone Valley<\/strong> in bicycle; known for its delicious local specialty, Fossa Cheese, you\u2019ll arrive on the top of the Longiano<\/strong> hill. Here you\u2019ll find beautiful Malatestiana Tower<\/strong>; the view over the Valley is spectacular to say the least, a worthy reward for the hard put in on your bicycle.<\/p>\n

The list of Longiano attractions does not end here, the Petrella Theater and the Museum of Sacred Art are other examples. Returning to wine and food, an mandatory stop along this cycling route is surely the Frantoio Turchi<\/strong>, an extensive number of olive trees form the framework in which, once again, the ancient Romagna tradition revives. The granite mill presses allows the production of a top of the notch quality extra-virgin olive oil, available at the farm shop.<\/p>\n

Here you\u2019ll find the \u201cVein of the Gypsum<\/strong>\u201d; the only existing gypsum formation in Europe. And there\u2019s more! The park is beautiful and hosts a vast\u00a0 bio diversity. You can discover the curiosities of the gypsum inside the caves or just go for a walk along the paths in the park.<\/p>\n

The visitor in search for a romantic experience will be amazed during the full moon nights when, reflecting on the gypsum rocks, the park will light up as if it was day time!\u00a0 Further, you can visit the Rifugio Ca\u2019 Carn\u00e8<\/strong>, where you will find testimony of the rich wild life in the park area, for example the very rare black wolf.
