Our tips for an \u201calternative\u201d day in Romagna:<\/p>\n

Visiting RAVENNA<\/strong><\/a>, a one of a kind city with no less than 8 UNESCO monuments. Park your car in the nearby Largo Giustiniano, continue on foot in via Fiandrini and you\u2019ll be in the middle of history within a heartbeat: the Basilica San Vitale<\/strong> and the Galla Placidia Mausoleo<\/strong>. You will exit with some of a soar neck\u2026.. and that\u2019s because you\u2019ll be admiring the beautiful mosaics and frescoes. You will then continue along the city streets where the modern and the ancient co-exist.\u00a0 In the Basilica San Francesco<\/strong> it\u2019s worth the while to wait in line for a little bit and visit the \u201cflooded\u201d crypt located under the presbytery. And when you exit, turn the corner and you\u2019ll find Dante\u2019s tomb<\/strong> \u2026 a little bit of rest in the garden of the \u201cforgotten herbs\u201d and then on to the Neonian Baptistry<\/strong>. Not bad for a morning walk!<\/p>\n

Grab your car and drive towards Cesena, stop by the Teodorico Mausoleo<\/strong> and enjoy the relaxing park, then continue for a few miles and visit Sant\u2019Apollinare in Classe<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

And of course\u2026 lunch break! If you haven\u2019t brought one of our delicious lunch packets, it\u2019s a definite must to stop at the piadina flat bread kiosk by the Cervia Salt Pond visitor\u2019s Center<\/strong>. Just relax\u2026 In the Salina Camillone<\/strong>, open air museum from the ancient saline civilization you will discover wild life and nature.<\/p>\n

Then\u2026 off to CESENA<\/strong>: the Malatestiana Library<\/strong>, a component in the UNESCO \u201cMemories of the World\u201d register. We promise you a one of a kind experience, once you\u2019ve opened the two doors you\u2019ll be thrown back to a time period far far from now, and while the guide is explaining you\u2019ll picture the scribes, writing and\u00a0 copying the books that luckily have survived until modern days. Just a few meters from the library you\u2019ll arrive at the Malatestiana Fortress<\/strong> where you can have a cup of coffee in the bar and then\u2026go shopping in the town center!<\/p>\n
